Overview

Starting university can be an exciting but challenging time. Students may be adjusting to new environments, living away from home, managing finances, building friendships, or returning to study as a mature learner. These changes can place pressure on mental health and overall wellbeing.

This course supports students in navigating the social, financial and academic challenges of university life. It introduces practical strategies to build resilience, manage stress, and maintain wellbeing, helping you adapt to new experiences and succeed in your studies.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Recognise common challenges associated with starting university, including social, financial and academic pressures
  • Understand the importance of wellbeing and resilience in supporting your learning and personal development
  • Apply practical strategies to manage stress and support your mental wellbeing
