Overview

This course is designed to support students in developing the essential academic skills needed for success in higher education.

Structured across a series of focused units, the course covers key topics including literature searching, evaluating information, digital citizenship, and the effective use of learning and support technologies.

Through interactive content, practical activities, downloadable resources and a final quiz, you will build the skills needed to locate and assess credible sources, engage effectively in academic environments, and support your learning throughout your studies.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify and use appropriate strategies to find academic information, including literature searching and research techniques
  • Evaluate the credibility and relevance of information sources for academic work
  • Demonstrate responsible and respectful engagement in digital environments, including good digital citizenship practices
  • Use learning and support technologies effectively to support your academic development
