I teach within the School of Humanities in WIT and currently work with the Irish Prison Service on the Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (HCCC), the entry level qualification for Irish Prison Officers. In addition, I am project lead on a 2019 – 2020 enhancement initiative on the HCCC, aimed at building teaching and learning capacity on the programme and funded through the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning. I aim to develop authentic learning experiences for students, with application to their working lives, using an underpinning philosophy of reflective practice.
