Overview

This Open Course is about how to have very productive meetings with campus stakeholders. Participants will learn how to take on the role of a secretary for any group, including how to prepare clear agendas and accurate minutes. The course also covers how to set up effective meetings and support a team. Secretaries are demonstrating leadership to enable a group collaboration to successfully achieve its aims and objectives.

  • Prepare well-structured meeting agendas that clearly outline discussion items, responsibilities, and desired outcomes.
  • Record accurate, concise, and action focused minutes that support effective follow-up and accountability
  • Organise and facilitate productive meetings by applying strategies for time management, participation, and decision-making.
  • Support team effectiveness by implementing meeting practices that help groups stay focused, aligned, and capable of achieving their goals.
