My Digital Backpack

My Digital Backpack is an online learning platform for students and staff across the higher education sector. It offers free, short courses that lead to nationally recognised digital badges through the HEA National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning Open Courses. Now part of Open Courses, My Digital Backpack continues to provide a user-friendly, self-directed learning experience, enabling learners to develop skills alongside their studies or professional roles. Originally developed through the EU-funded N-TUTORR Student Empowerment work programme, under the leadership of Dr Carina Ginty (ATU) and Dr Moira Maguire (DKIT), the platform supports learners across the technological university sector. Courses cover a range of themes, including Digital Transformation, Employability, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Academic Integrity, Education for Sustainability, Universal Design for Learning and Student Leadership, helping learners build skills that complement their existing programmes of study.
