Embedding the SDGs across the Curriculum

Next Start Date Autumn 2024
Duration 25 hours

Overview

This course will be a follow-on from the ‘Introducing Education for Sustainability’ digital badge to provide two linked stacked options for HE and FE staff. The course will require 25 learner hours over a six-week period, after which learners can claim their digital badge with a follow-on two-week facilitator digital badge. The aim is to create a dynamic community of practice across the higher and further education sector on ESD and the SDGs aligned with the work of the SDSN. The main objectives of the course are:

  • Raise awareness and understanding of the SDGs within an educational context with a view to catalyzing action on embedding them more holistically across the curriculum.
  • Create a community of practice amongst higher and further education staff through the digital and facilitator badges, that will lead the curriculum transformation required to equip students with the necessary competences to become change agents for a sustainable future.
  • What are the SDGs and what role does HE and FE play in meeting the listed targets?
  • How can HE and FE embed the SDGs more holistically across the curriculum?
